Lakeview, Orchard Heights amalgamated into the Town of Mississauga in 1968. Currently, best known for the 4 Sisters, the four smokestacks of the former Lakeview Generating Station of Ontario Power Generation. This is a neighbourhood close to the lake offering expansive parklands. Many parks run along Lake Ontario, including one of the largest and most beautiful park developments on Lake Ontario, Lakefront Promenade Park and Marina, Port Credit Yacht  Club and several other parks with well lit baseball diamonds used by many junior leagues. 
While the Toronto Golf Course forms the southern border of Orchard Heights, The Lakeview Golf Course is located right across the street on the west side of Dixie Rd., just south of the Dixie Value Mall.  Nature lovers will enjoy a stroll through the Etobicoke Creek Park.  A pedestrian footbridge across the Etobicoke Creek at Sherway Drive, affords local residents a excellent opportunity to explore the creek , with or without Fido, or actually crossover the Creek to access Sherway Gardens by foot.
Real Estate
Housing in the neighbourhood of Lakeview varies considerably as it consists of older detached homes near the lake; many are being purchased and replaced with luxury custom built homes in the million dollar price range. This obviously is because of the location near the lake and expansive parklands. There is a great mix of residential housing north of Lakeshore and throughout Lakeview including detached houses, 2 stories, bungalows, semi-detached homes as well as town houses, condominiums and apartments. Many of the homes are on larger lots some considered estate lots. Compared to the price of housing in Toronto most of the real estate values in Lakeview are considered very affordable. Lakeview is a great place for buyers looking for a bungalow.
